Kaztechnology Begins Development of a Digital Platform for Train No. 55/56 on the Kokshetau – Kyzylorda Route. Starlink Satellite Internet and 24/7 Video Surveillance to Be Introduced on One of Kazakhstan’s Longest Railway Routes

Kazakhstan continues its digital transformation of passenger rail transportation. Kaztechnology has announced the launch of a comprehensive digital platform development project for passenger train No. 55/56 operating on the Kokshetau – Kyzylorda route and serviced by NOMADAS. Train No. 55/56 connecting Kokshetau and Kyzylorda is one of the longest domestic railway routes in Kazakhstan, spanning more than 2,200 kilometers. The route passes through the country's largest cities, including Astana, Karaganda, Shu, Taraz, Shymkent, Arys, Turkistan, and Kyzylorda. Given the strategic importance of this route, the introduction of advanced satellite communication technologies and intelligent security systems will enhance the quality of passenger services, taking them to a new level. One of the key components of the project is the integration of high-speed Starlink satellite internet. The use of satellite connectivity will provide passengers with stable internet access even in sections of the railway where mobile network coverage is unavailable. This will enable passengers to use messaging applications, social media, business services, and other online platforms throughout almost the entire journey. Another major component of the project is the deployment of an intelligent video surveillance system. High-definition cameras will be installed in passenger coaches and service areas, providing 24/7 recording, remote monitoring, and real-time operational control. The system is designed to enhance passenger safety, protect property, and equip train crews with modern operational management tools. According to Kaztechnology, the development of the satellite communication and intelligent video surveillance system forms part of the company's broader strategy to introduce advanced digital technologies across Kazakhstan's railway sector. The company's engineering team is currently designing the technical solutions and preparing for the subsequent implementation stages. The project timeline will be determined upon completion of the engineering phase and coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
